At the moment we offer four destinations for our running holiday adventures: Sweden, Norway, Finland (destinations have worked with for many years through our other brand, Nature Travels) and Scotland.
As Running Travels’ journey develops, over the coming months and years we plan to add many more exciting destinations for you to discover!
Norway
Norway is a country with world-class scenery encompassing mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Norway’s climate has mild temperatures on the sea coasts and even though the inland is a little colder (more so on higher altitude), it is still much milder than other locations in the world on such northerly latitudes. The northerly location offers long summer evenings and light nights.
Our options for running holidays in Norway:
- Point to Point Trail Adventure in Rondane National Park (8 days)
- Trail Running on the King’s Road (7 days)
Sweden
Sweden is a country with thousands of coastal islands and inland lakes along with vast boreal forests and glaciated mountains. Sweden’s climate is in general very mild for its northerly location and it often has warm continental summers. Like Norway and Finland, the summer nights are light and for a period in far north, the sun doesn’t set at all.

Finland
The country’s interior, with thousands of lakes, is perfect as a summer destination. Finland (like Sweden and Norway) has a much milder climate than most other regions of the world that lie as far north. Finland’s many lakes and the gulf of Bothnia help give the country a relatively mild climate. Also like Sweden and Norway, Finland offers long light summer evenings to enjoy in a beautiful natural environment. And if you’ve never tried a sauna and then jumped into a lake afterwards, this is your chance!

Scotland
Scotland is a magical destination and true wilderness is still to be found here. Scotland is a great destination for trail running, especially in spring and autumn, when the hills are not only less visited by other users of the mountains, but the midges are sleeping!
